The Ulster Defence Medal (UD)

The following rules apply in order to be eligible for the UD:

Note: The UD Medal ceased to be awarded after 30 Jun 1992. It was replaced by the NIHSM.

Part Time Members of The UDR:

Must have completed 12 years efficient service in The Ulster Defence Regiment.
A further 6 years efficient service in The Ulster Defence Regiment will qualify for the award of a "Clasp."

Full Time Members of The UDR:

Full Time UDR Officers and Soldiers are not eligible for the award UD Medal.
